CROATIA the country of my anchestors
My parents were originally from Pinguente/Buzet,
the first pictures you see, it is located in Istria, the peninsula that belongs to three countries: Italy (the only town of Muggia), Slovenia (the northern coast with Capodistria/Koper where I was borm, Izola, Piran, Portoroz) and the great remaining belongs to Croatia but before the second world war belonged to Italy included the Dalmatia upto Zara/Zadar and the northern islands (Cherso/Cres, Lussinpiccolo/Mali Losinj, Veglia/Krk, Cherso/Cres,Pago/Pag,Brazz/Brac).
As I lived about 40 years of my life in Trieste,Italy close with the border with Slovenia and before with Jugoslavia as Istria and Dalmatia are really beautiful with an amazing sea and beaches and it was extremely cheap for us Italians being Italian lira stronger than Yugoslava dinar, I used to spend most of my holidays there at least for twenty years from my twenty upto my forty when I moved to Lombardy where I had my new family, my girl friend and my daughter.
Twenty years of holidays in Istria and Dalmatia make me an expert of those regions even if I haven't been to Croatia since the nineties, except for a travel from Trieste to Albania, via Istria and Dalmatia in 2007 and another later around Dubrovnik, Korcula, Hvar and Mljet that I had not visited before, except Dubrovnik, the pearl of Dalmatia visited four times.
Just few islands are unknown to me and few towns, the less famous.
In this occasion I am not going to tell you the details of my various travels, the beautiful pictures will tallk better than me.
For the news you can find in another posts of myself or the net.
