1983 EGYPT and 2004 SINAI-Egypt two trips revisited by heart 30 and 19 years later

In 1983, I went on an Easter group trip to Egypt we visited the metropolis of Cairo the largest city in Africa with over 15 million inhabitants and famous for its pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, the bazaar, a great mosque and the beautiful museum with the treasure of Tutankhamun the young pharaoh who died at 18 years and whose tomb was discovered intact in the early twentieth century then we traveled the road along the Nile by coach and train to Aswan and stopping at the various locations which have famous archaeological sites like Edu, Komombo, Luxor and of course we visited the valley of the kings and queens and the valley where the temple of the queen is located pharaoh Ashepsut, also the step pyramid of Saqqara and the colossi of Memnon I also remember sailing on a felucca along the Nile and a pleasant stop at Elephantine Island with a climb to the top where the mausoleum of an Aga Khan is located, a royal title and a hereditary position that has great religious significance: in fact, he is the guide spirituality of the Nizarites, the main sect of Ismalite Muslims, who in turn represent a current of Shiite Islam. The current Aga Khan is a wealthy entrepreneur, the creator of the Costa Smeralda tourist hub, the Olbia airport and the Air Italy airline put into liquidation in 2018 in 2004 on new year's eve I flew to Sharm el Sheik without booking anything, found a hotel room for just one night, climbed the panoramic hill to admire the sunset and the lights of Naama Bay, the luxurious resort with a beautiful beach , hotels of various kinds, casinos, many shops and restaurants I just did a boat trip to Ras Mohammed, the nature reserve with the coral reef to be admired with mask and fins it wasn't for me, too slick and touristy so I took the bus and after three hours I arrived in Dahab a beautiful place in the north, simpler, I would say hippies, where many come to do diving school, but there is also snorkelling and many excursions at a cost a quarter of that of Naama Bay I climbed Mount Sinai at night under a starry sky among the camels that carried the lazy and watched the sun rise at the top with a rented mattress and blankets because it was freezing cold below is the monastery of Santa Caterina surrounded by walls but it was not open to visitors I hiked along the coast to visit a Bedouin village and met a guy who offered me a bag of marijuana for $10 which I bought to please my Italian friends from Milan who were tattooed theater people with wives and children doing the diving course they had an Arab friend who took us to dinner in well-known restaurants where we feasted on fish and seafood for cheap I also hiked the very spectacular red and white canyon, arid and with deep gorges with walls inlaid with ancient graffiti Dahab had a long coastal road with many little bars that placed comfortable mattresses close to the sea with the coral reef ten meters away I saw fish and corals of all colors and spent a wonderful week's holiday spending very little money
