CERTAIN AMERICAN HYPOCRISY AND WEIRDNESS
During my stay in New York in 1982, I observed some inconsistencies and hypocrisies in the behavior of Americans.
For example, it was forbidden to drink a beer in the street, unless it was contained inside a paper bag that hid the contents.
I was 32 and in bars they asked me for an ID before giving me beer
On the other hand, near the Stock Exchange, I saw American employees lining up during the lunch break to buy a ration of drugs.
Scarce formality, at the Metropolitan during a concert I saw a lady with curlers on her head and slippers,
In 1982 in Venice, Santa Monica, California I photographed a guitarist performing in the street, in 1990 I returned and photographed the same artist in the same uniform
